We are a full body canine wellness website, administered by Isadora and Calliope Pike. We are supported by our two humans (Mommy and Daddy) who translate for us and type out thoughts out onto the inter-webby thing so we can reach other pups and their families.

We specialize in canine healthy way of eating, but every once in awhile, and totally against our wishes… our feline siblings wiggle their way into our posts. We try to keep down on these cat posts as much as possible because…well, they’re cats, and we all know that ‘dogs rule and cats drool’.

This is our team-

Isadora Duncan Tiny Dancer – Head Honcho and Alpha dog of the Pike pack

Isadora, or Izzi for short is a purebred Shih tzu from from Opal Shih Tzu (Paradise Newfoundland); her Sire is Ch. Opal’s Journey of Love, ‘Ryan’ and her Dam is Ch. Opal’s a Sweet Love, ‘Vera’. She came to live with Mommy and Daddy in June of 2019 and healed Mommy’s broken heart after losing our beloved Chiquita.

Izzi was promoted to head honcho and alpha dog a little earlier than expected after we lost Squiggles in September of 2021. Please bear with Izzi as she learn the ropes, she is only young and is still learning to do the ‘puter’ work. Mommy and Daddy will be assisting in her training to bring her up to speed as quickly as possible.

Even though Izzi is a tiny dog, she makes up for her small stature in pure dog-onality!  She is healthy and happy ECK pup who thoroughly enjoys her food. She enjoys barking at the neighbours’ pups through the back fence, hanging out with and tolerating little sisters, Calliope and Ducki and going for walkies.

Introducing! Our BRAND NEW interns!

Calliope and Ducki are brand new to the ECK pups pack and they’re still in training mode!

They were both recruiting directly from Opal Shihtzu, so they already have all the good ethics and temperament in place to become super duper team members.

They’re oodles of fun and adorable and super cute! We are delighted to have them both on board!Cept for Izzi, she thinks her new little sisters are a pain in the tushie. 😉

Squiggles- In tribute (RIP) ex Head ECK Pup and Founding member

Squiggles (Princess Fuzzy Bottom) was a Shih Tzu Poodle Cross who hails from K9 Kennels in Westerose Alberta. She moved to Newfoundland in January of 2011, where she took up residence with her human brother Alex, Mommy Bobbi and Daddy Geoff.

Squiggles showed signed of being a ‘born leader’ and earned the title ‘Miss Bossy Pants’ very early on her canine career and took greta joy in ruling her roost and her pack from day one.

Squiggles had a strong history of canine bladder stones and has endured many painful bouts of passing stones herself and also has successfully been enrolled in and completed two emergency surgeries to remove large size stones from her body.

Squiggles passed away after a brief illness in September of 2021. She is dealry missed by the whole pack.

Chiquita- In tribute (RIP)

Chiqqi, or Chiqqi Boo-boo was a Shih Tzu Poodle Cross from K9 Kennels in Westerose Alberta. She moved to Newfoundland in July of 2011, where she took up residence as little sister to Squiggles, with her human brother Alex, Mommy Bobbi and Daddy Geoff.

Chiqqi was bothered by food allergies, (and the ear infections and hot spots that came with it) from an early age. She was treated yearly for these ailments until she switched over to her new way of eating in May of 2018, after which she had no more ear infections.

Unfortunately, in spite of Chiqqi’s new eating regime, she started to show signs of sickness in the fall of 2018 and was eventually diagnosed with canine lymphoma in February of 2019 (deemed most likely from ‘lawn’ pesticide poisoning). Chiquita passed peacefully away surrounded by love, at home in June of 2019.

Chiqqi’s new way of eating kept her wagging her tail, feeling fine and livin’ large, despite her illness. Her longevity was attributed to her clean and well-balanced food and much cuddles and love.
